HOW IT ALL STARTED
The Shore-Up is the final product of an exciting journey that started about two years ago. You see, I like to fish (A LOT) and have a passion for fishing inshore; mostly Redfish. I spend some time fishing recreationally in the Tampa Bay Area, however, most of my time on the water is spent scouting for and competing in Redfish tournaments that are mostly located in Louisiana. Maintaining my equipment has always been a top priority for me and because of this I really wanted a better way to protect my trolling motor. As fishermen we all know that the trolling motor is a sight fisherman’s lifeline, so protecting it from damage in the best way possible is of the utmost importance. After having seen a couple of one-off mounts made by guys I know, I decided that I wanted one. “Patience is a virtue” does not apply to me, so instead of waiting for someone to build one for me, I decided to take a shot at making my own. After several trials and bouncing around various ideas, one off the other, the Shore-Up mount was born. I designed this mount with every fisherman in mind, from the weekend warriors to the ones on the water 300 days a year. This mount encompasses multiple solutions for the issues that bay and flats boats encounter today.
To say that this is the best-designed trolling motor mount on the market today is an understatement; made by a fisherman for fishermen, the Shore-Up is your trolling motor’s best friend.
WHAT PROBLEMS SHORE-UP SOLVES!
Shore-Up solves many of the problems with the current mounts on the market. First having the ability to mount the puck on the bow in multiple locations.
This allows the the installer the use all mounting hole in the puck to be threw bolted on the deck. Second, having an offset handle on the pin system allows the user the easiest removal ever seen on a mount. The pin system has dual security, with the ability to use a cotter key or a coupler lock (that does not rub on the deck) to secure pin system in place or theft of the trolling motor.
Thirdly, the fully adjustable arm ( shaft support ) that shores up the trolling motor shaft. This arm takes all the bounce and shake away from the trolling motor and head , even running in the roughest conditions. With the fully custom made hinge the user has the ability to adjust the tension they desire on the hinge.
The arm has the ability to be adjusted by the user the give the desired pressure they desire on the shaft. The hinge and arm fold down flat so there are no kick or snag hazards.
